This feature is designed to improve transparency, security, and accountability. It allows you to understand what happened, who performed the action, and when it occurred, all in one place.

This article explains where to find Platform Activity Logs, how to use filters, and how to read each log entry in a simple and easy-to-understand way.

Note:

The Platform Activity Logs feature is currently available in Public Preview, which means it is fully usable but may continue to receive improvements based on customer feedback.

What Are Platform Activity Logs?

Platform Activity Logs record all important account activities performed by you or your team members. These logs help you understand:

  • What action was performed
(For example: Server Cloned, Server Deleted, Package Changed, App Created, etc.)

  • Who performed the action
(You or one of your team members)

  • When the action happened
    (Exact timestamp)

  • Where the action occurred
    (Server, project, or application)

This feature is especially useful for teams working on multiple projects, helping you track changes and maintain complete accountability.

Where to Find Platform Activity Logs

Follow these steps to access the Platform Activity Logs from your Cloudways dashboard:

  1. Log in to your Cloudways account.

2. Open your profile tab and click on ‘My Account’.

3. You will land on the Main Dashboard. From the left navigation panel, locate and click Activity Logs.

4. The Platform Activity Logs (Activity Logs) page will open, showing a list of all recorded activities.

You will now see a complete timeline of all actions performed by your team.

How to Read Platform Activity Log Entries

Each log entry contains the following important details:

  • Action Performed (Activity)
Example: Server Cloned, Package Updated, SSH Access Modified, App Deleted, etc.

  • Performed By (Member)
Shows the name or email address of the user who performed the activity.

  • Timestamp (Date)
Shows the date and exact time the action occurred.

  • IP Address
Which IP Address was used to do that activity.

This makes it easy to track what happened in your account at any time.

How to Filter Logs by Team Member

If multiple team members work on your account, you may want to view actions performed by a specific person.

Here's how to do that:

  1. Open the Activity Logs page. Click the Member Filter dropdown.

2. A list of all team members with access to your account will appear.

3. Select the team member whose actions you want to review.

4. The page will instantly update and show only the logs related to that user.

5. This helps you easily track responsibilities or verify changes made by a particular person. If a team member has no activity logged, it will display ‘No results found’.

How to Filter Logs by Date

You can also filter activities that happened within a specific period.

To filter logs by date:

  1. On the Platform Activity Logs page, click the Date Filter option.

2. Choose your preferred date range using the calendar picker. Select a month, pick a date, and click ‘Done’.

3. You can also select a custom date(s) to extract the activity logs from that timeframe.

4. The logs will refresh and show only activities performed between those dates.

This is useful when you want to review changes made today, this week, or during a specific project update.

How to Use the Search Filter

The Search feature allows you to find a specific activity quickly.

To use it:

  1. Go to the Activity Logs (Platform Activity Logs) page.

  2. Locate the Search Bar at the top.

3. Type a keyword related to the action.

Examples:

  • “Clone”

  • “IP Add”

  • “Firewall”

4. The results will instantly display only the matching logs.

This makes searching for specific events much easier and faster.

You can also access Platform Activity Logs from certain dashboard touchpoints depending on your workflow. This gives you quick access to logs while working on related server or application settings.
