At Cloudways, we support multiple payment methods. You can choose to pay your invoices using a credit/debit card or PayPal.
By default, our billing system will try to charge your primary payment method (credit/debit card) at the end of your billing cycle.
If the payment fails—for example, due to insufficient funds or card issues—you can manually settle your invoice using PayPal.

Note: PayPal payments are available only after you have upgraded your trial account to a full account.
Available Payment Methods
Cloudways supports multiple payment options to make billing simple and convenient. Once you upgrade your trial account to a full account, you can pay your invoices using either a credit card or PayPal.
By default, our system automatically attempts to charge your registered credit card for any outstanding invoices. If the transaction fails — due to insufficient funds, expired card, or a bank-related issue — you can manually pay the pending amount using your PayPal account instead.
If your invoice remains unpaid after these attempts, please refer to our Invoice Policy for details on how Cloudways handles unpaid invoices.
Tip:
If you want to upgrade your trial account to a full account using PayPal, please send us your request to [email protected] so that our team can guide you accordingly.
You can always top up your Cloudways account in advance via credit card or PayPal. In this way, all your future invoices will be adjusted from the available funds.
Note:
Cloudways now supports recurring PayPal payments for upgraded accounts, allowing you to manage your billing automatically if you prefer using PayPal. This update is effective April 1, 2026, for new customers and after April 16, 2026, for existing customers.
