How to Manage Channels in CloudwaysBot

Channels allow users to subscribe to notifications of different selected events via collaboration mediums, such as Slack and Email, API.

You receive real-time alerts on your desired communication and collaboration channels across your team.

How to Add a Channel?

Adding a new collaboration channel/medium is super-easy and consists of only a few clicks.

Follow the steps below to add your favorite channel.

Step #1:

  • Log into your Cloudways Platform.

  • Click on the top menu, and then select the CloudwaysBot icon as shown below.

Step #2:

  • Click Channels on the side panel.

  • The Channels tab will give you an option to Add Channel as shown below. Click it.

Step #3:

Select the desired option from the drop-down menu. We will use Slack in our example.

Step #4

  • Now enter the WebHook URL you copied from Slack.

  • Paste the URL in the URL field.

  • Enter a name, set the status as Active, and select the events you want to receive the alerts on.

Once you have filled up all the fields, click on Save and Test channel below. The process will be completed.

How to Delete a Channel?

If you do not want to receive notifications for a Channel you added earlier, you can delete it in a few clicks by following the steps mentioned below.

Step #1:

  • Select the channel you want to delete from your notifications panel.

  • Click on the three dots button (⋮) in the bottom-right screen of your channel.

  • Select Delete Channel and type delete to complete the process.
