How It Works
Cloudways follows a pay-as-you-go billing model. This means:
Every running server is billed separately
This includes:
Newly created servers
Existing servers
Cloned servers
Once you clone a server and it starts running, it is treated as a separate server and begins generating charges.
Important Things to Know
Charges are based on the time the cloned server remains active
If you no longer need the cloned server, delete it to stop further charges
The usage of cloned servers appears in your monthly invoice, just like any other server
Quick Example:
If you:
Have 1 original server
Create 1 cloned server
Keep both running
You will be charged for 2 servers in your invoice.
Tip:
If you’re cloning a server only for testing or temporary work, remember to delete it once you’re done to avoid extra costs.
