How Do I Add Funds to My Account?

Easily add funds to your Cloudways Wallet using credit card or PayPal to maintain a prepaid balance and ensure uninterrupted hosting services.

You can add funds to your Cloudways account using Credit Card or PayPal to prepay for upcoming invoices.

This is particularly helpful if you prefer to manage your billing on a yearly basis. You can prepay up to 12 months in advance based on your current usage.

Once funds (prepayments) are added, they will automatically be used to settle your future invoices until the balance is depleted.

Note:

You can view your month-to-date charges (including applied credits and discounts) from the Billing > Overview section.

Important:

  • If there are insufficient funds or credits to cover your invoice, the remaining balance will be charged automatically to your default payment method (Credit Card or PayPal).

How Do I Add Funds to My Account?

The steps below explain how to add funds to your Cloudways account in the unified interface.

Important:

Please note that adding funds does not instantly pay your existing unpaid invoices. If you already have pending invoices, you’ll need to manually settle them using your preferred payment method.

Once those invoices are cleared, any remaining balance in your Cloudways Wallet will automatically be used to pay future invoices. Learn more about Cloudways Wallets, including Funds and Credits, in this article.

Step #1:

Log in to your Cloudways Platform using your email address and password.

  1. Click on your profile name at the top-right corner of the Cloudways Platform

  2. From the dropdown, select Billing.

Step #2:

  1. Once you're in the Billing Overview section, locate the top menu.

  2. Click on the Credits & Discounts tab to view any applied credits or discounts on your account.

Step #3:

  1. Credits: This section shows the total available credits in your account. You can earn more credits by referring friends to Cloudways.

  2. Discounts: This section lists any active discounts on your account, including the start and end dates, along with the discount percentage.

Note: Credits will be valid for 1 year from date of issuance and can only be used to settle outstanding balances

Now based on your funds availability, follow the relevant instructions:

*If You Don't Have Funds Available:

Step #4:

  • Click the Make a Payment button at the top-right.

Step #5:

  • Select Add a Custom Amount, then enter the amount you want to add.

  • Choose your preferred payment method (e.g., saved Credit Card or PayPal).

  • Click Submit Payment to complete the transaction.

*If You Already Have Available Funds:

Step #6:

  • You’ll still see the Make a Payment button at the top-right.

You can use it anytime to add more funds manually by repeating the same process:

→ Choose amount → Select payment method → Click Submit Payment.

Classic Interface - How to Add Funds?

Step #1:

  1. Log in to your Cloudways Platform using your email and password.

  2. Click on your Profile icon at the top right corner, then select Account.

Step #2:

  1. Click on the Billing tab

  2. Click the green ‘Go to Billing’ button

Step #3:

  1. Once you're in the Billing Overview section, locate the top menu.

  2. Click on the Credits & Discounts tab to view any applied credits or discounts on your account.

Step #4:

  1. Once you are on the Credits & Discounts page, click the Make a Payment button located at the top-right corner of the screen.

  2. This option allows you to manually clear any pending dues or add funds to your account if automatic payments or credits are not available.

Step #5:

  1. Enter your desired amount under “Add a Custom Amount.”

  2. Choose your preferred payment method from the available saved cards.

  3. (Optional) Click Add New to add a new payment method.

  4. Click the Submit Payment button at the top-right to complete the transaction.


What’s Next?

Once you choose your payment method, you’ll be redirected accordingly:

  • For Credit Card(s), you’ll be taken to the secure payment processor page.

  • For PayPal, you’ll be redirected to log in and confirm the payment.

After the funds are added successfully:

  • You’ll receive a confirmation email.

The transaction will appear under the Transaction Details section in your Cloudways account for future reference.
