Cloudways offers a Managed Application Migration service where our experts move your website or application to Cloudways for you.
How to Request an Application Migration to Cloudways?
Cloudways provides two ways to migrate your application, depending on your preference and technical comfort level:
1. Request a Managed Migration (Handled by Experts)
You can request a Managed Application Migration, where Cloudways experts handle the entire migration process for you, ensuring a smooth transfer with minimal downtime.

WordPress and WooCommerce migrations are free, even when handled by Cloudways experts
Non-WordPress applications (such as Magento, Laravel, or custom PHP apps) are charged $99 per application migration
Customers on the Standard plan receive 1 free non-WordPress migration
Customers on the Agency plan receive up to 5 free non-WordPress migrations
Any additional non-WordPress migrations beyond the included quota will be charged at $99 per application.
Our team manages the entire migration process for you. You can request a managed migration using the built-in add-on by providing access details such as SSH, SFTP, FTP, cPanel, or other hosting credentials.
2. Migrate Using Cloudways Migrator Plugin (Self-Service)
If you're using WordPress or WooCommerce, you can migrate your website yourself using the Cloudways WordPress Migrator Plugin.
Supports WordPress and WooCommerce applications only
Unlimited migrations at no cost
No technical expertise required — guided process within the plugin
This is the fastest and most convenient option for WordPress users who want full control over the migration.
Tip:
If you're using WordPress or WooCommerce and you want to migrate your web application yourself, you can do it for free using the Cloudways WordPress Migrator Plugin with unlimited migrations. Alternatively, you can request a managed migration handled by Cloudways experts, which is also free for WordPress and WooCommerce applications.
If you have a downloadable backup, you can also submit a request by creating a support ticket.
Important:
Existing application data on the target will be overwritten. Follow the steps below to request your migration.
Steps to Request a Managed Application Migration
Follow these steps to request a Managed Application Migration on the new Cloudways Platform interface:

Migration charges depend on the application type. WordPress/WooCommerce migrations are free using Cloudways Migrator Plugin and via expert, while non-WordPress migrations can incur a fee.
Step #1 - Go to Integrations:
Log in to your Cloudways Platform.
From the homepage's left menu bar, click on Integrations.
Another sidebar will appear, from where you can either directly click on Application Migration, or click on View All as shown below.
Step #2 - Open Application Migration Add-on:
In the Cloudways Partner Hub, locate Application Migration in the list of add-ons.
Click on Application Migration to view its details page.
Here you'll see the benefits, including WordPress/WooCommerce unlimited free migrations with your account.
Step #3 - Start the Migration Request:
On the Application Migration page, review the information about the service.
Click on Submit Your Application at the bottom to begin your migration request.
Step #4 - Select Your Application:
In the Application Migration Request form, choose the Application you want to migrate into on Cloudways.
Select your Product (e.g., Flexible or Autonomous).
Click Next to continue.
Note:
If your application includes a subsite or nested app with a separate database, toggle “Does your application contain a subsite?” and enter its path. Subsites are treated as separate migrations and may incur additional charges.
Step #5 - Enter Site Details:
Enter your Application Domain Name (e.g., mydomain.com).
Add the Admin URL for your website’s control panel.
Provide your Admin Username and Password.
If your app includes a subsite, toggle the option and provide the subsite path.
For PHP or Laravel apps with a CMS/back office, toggle CMS/Backoffice Admin and enter details.
Click Next.
Step #6 - Fill in Connection Details:
Choose your Connection Type (SSH, SFTP, FTP, cPanel, or Other Hosting).
Enter your Username, Password, Host/IP Address, and Port.
If you want to migrate your MySQL database, provide phpMyAdmin Username, Password, and URL. It is only valid for SFTP and FTP-based connections.
Enter the username for the phpMyAdmin connection.
Enter the password for the phpMyAdmin connection.
Enter the PHPMyAdmin URL. [e.g., http://www.yourdomainname.com:2083/3rdparty/phpMyAdmin/index.php)
Click Next to proceed.
Step #7 - Add Additional Details:
If you have your own SSL Certificate, check the box to reveal:
CRT Content (paste your public certificate)
KEY Content (paste your private key)
Specify any Specific Checks you want the team to perform (e.g., Add to Cart, Login Process).
Add any Additional Notes for the migration team (e.g., Force HTTPS redirection).
Review all entries carefully.
Once all details are filled in, click Submit to send your migration request.
A Cloudways support engineer will reach out within 48 hours to discuss the schedule and next steps.
How Migration Type Affects Cost
The cost of your migration depends on the type of application:
WordPress/WooCommerce → Free using Cloudways migration tools
Other applications → $99 per migration (unless included in your plan)
If you are unsure about your application type, you can contact Cloudways Support before submitting your request.
Important Notes:
Data you enter in the migration form will be deleted after 30 days.
If you have downloadable application files or databases, please open a support ticket to track your migration request.
Managed migration isn’t available during the trial period—upgrade your account to claim your free migration (WordPress/WooCommerce).
