How to Change Your Cloudways Account Email Address

You can update your Cloudways account email address directly from your account settings. Follow the steps below carefully to avoid login or access issues.

If self-service is unavailable or not applicable, manual methods can be employed to update your email address.

Step #1 - Open Account Settings:

  1. Log in to the Cloudways Platform.

  2. Click your profile icon in the top-right corner.

  3. Select My Account from the dropdown menu.

Step #2 - Profile Section & Update Email Address:

  1. From the left menu, click Account.

  2. Locate the Email field.

  3. Enter your new email address in the Email field.

  4. Click Update Profile.

Step #3 - Confirm the Change:

  1. Review the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

  2. Check the confirmation box to accept the terms.

  3. Enter your Cloudways account password.

  4. Click Continue and Logout.

You will be logged out automatically.

Step #5 - Log In with Your New Email:

  1. Go back to the Cloudways login page.

  2. Sign in using your new email address and password.

You will also receive a notification email confirming the change, sent to both your old and new email addresses.

For cases requiring manual intervention, the process may take up to 24 hours for changes to propagate across all services and systems.

Important Notes Before You Change Your Email

Please review the following before updating your account email:

  • Only full Cloudways accounts (not trial accounts) can change the email address.

  • Your account email can be changed only once.

  • The new email must not already be registered with Cloudways as:

  • a trial or full account, or

  • a team member email.

  • Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) must be temporarily turned off before updating the email.

  • Your Cloudways API key will be regenerated after the email change. Any API-based integrations must be updated with the new key.- For manual email changes, you need to provide verification details such as the current primary email address, new email address, last 4 digits of the credit card associated with your account, cardholder name, and any server IPs or hosted website examples.

  • If applicable, a verification code will be sent to your current email to validate the request.

  • Changes to the primary email also update its link with affiliated services like the Cloudways Affiliates Program, and you must state consent for these updates.- Second-time email address changes or cases where the email field is greyed out require manual assistance and may lead to additional verification requests based on account history.- A delegate or team member can request email changes on behalf of the primary account holder by specifying their relationship and providing required verification details, provided the new email is not associated with another Cloudways account.
